Here is the redesign for the project. The idea stems from designing this piece around the concept of the octopus.


























The new piece would use softer fabric which could be backlit and also inflated. The installation would be in a dimly lit room. Also the mechanics of the piece would be moved to the top to represent the brain of the object. The piece would then draw in water when the arms deflate to the water bottles located at the brain, and expel water to the center of the belly when it inflates.
